He says he's forming a party, so I assumed it was XP sharing. So, Mifa's inquisitor class allows her to gain exp and level up just by watching someone else kill monsters (in this case, frogs).

I'll disagree on party leveling being among the worst game mechanics ever, convenience factors and all that. Honestly the oddity of how much the world's systems copy existing technology here is, to me wild. Zoom calls, E-mails, and others oh my.This story is so polluted by questionable game mechanics that I suppose one of the worst game mechanisms ever invented is in as well.
When people try to ascribe tastes of X food, they usually compare it to something similar to them. And meat tends to get the most comparisons to either chicken, beef, or pork; simply because most people tend not have much else in general.Bro who the fuck said frog taste like chicken? when i tried it wasn't bad, but no way in hell it tastes like chicken.
True true, but if were to describe frog meat i would say it was way more like a chewy bland fish than chicken, maybe it's because the one i tasted wasn't fried, maybe? When people try to ascribe tastes of X food, they usually compare it to something similar to them. Possibly. It is very mild, and chicken isn't exactly the most impactful base flavor. Could also be the frog involved. I'm not a huge fan of the frog I've tried either.True true, but if were to describe frog meat i would say it was way more like a chewy bland fish than chicken, maybe it's because the one i tasted wasn't fried, maybe?
I don't like exp based leveling because it makes little sense. Party exp leveling removes altogether what little logic the exp leveling might have had. Of course I do tolerate it in the myriad run-of-the-mill RPGs, it can't be helped seeing how it all started all the way back with D&D, probably, so it is what it is, with only a limited amount of game devs willing to reinvent the wheel (even though better systems exist). It was made exponentially worse when isekai authors started to implement it in their fantasy worlds. At least in games go can just go along with it as a game mechanism, if the game is otherwise good, but in manga or anime, where it's supposed to be a living world, it just shatters the suspension of disbelief.I'll disagree on party leveling being among the worst game mechanics ever, convenience factors and all that. I mean, I can see some of your points. Particularly when it is poorly implemented. In DnD proper (and other systems) I prefer Milestones myself. A lot of game-esque fantasy (it is not only Isekai) basically mask XP to morph into goal points and milestones. Sometimes in a rather cart-before-the-horse fashion, like Isekai Meikyuu de Harem O. Or where leveling up is a Milestone - Danmachi/Is it Wrong to Pickup Girls in a Dungeon, and XP is codified as stat gains. Obviously I'm glossing over things. Implementation is, as it is in everything, of vital importance.I don't like exp based leveling because it makes little sense. Hunting is a skill best learned by kids. You cannot survive if you cannot kill skin cook and preserve meat. In fact city dwellers are the first to die because they cannot eat rat ( the city food, frogs are extinct ).Nope, it is because Mipha/Mifa is in Luke's Party with Lala that she's gaining the levels. Honestly you'd imagine most nobles would do the very obvious abuse Luke is doing and send off their children with a guard party to get their first job/level 10. Though maybe it matters more that Lala is the one actually killing the mostly harmless frogs.

They should have done leveling by repeating actions, like in Skyrim. If you want to learn sword, swing your sword more and slay by the sword, friendly or hostile. If you want to learn pickpocketing, steal more. If you want to learn sneak, hide more and run away more. If you want trade experience, trade more with merchants, although trading on the road with peddlers and hunting passers-by do not increase trade experience, IIRC.I don't like exp based leveling because it makes little sense.
