The whole point of this arc is to learn military magic, he already has the capability to set whatever magic he has in his arsenal to catastrophically evaporate every creature in a general area around sylpha's dad. The thing is he just wants to enjoy a battle rather than eviscerating his rivals without any kind of struggle, and hes not openly trying to showcase his power to the kingdom

There is no way the dad is weaker than the average monster, so can’t they just first clear out the weaker ones immediately using some sort of magic? I mean if the dad is somehow currently weaker than your average monster, I would say he would probably be dead

Also,it doesn’t have to be a nuke. If Lloyd just wants to make and learn and research about magic, can’t he do something like creating magic that locates specific beings? He could use it to determine what is and isn’t a ally, and he has the ability to just individually attack each monster, it doesn’t have to be a big attack, it just has to be enough to kill the monster.

He has an angel as a pet, I’m sure he could clear out the whole horde, and call it literally what you said, God intervention, as he literally has an Angel to use. The Angel could just manifest or something, and just say some sort of speech on how he used his power to help them because of some bullshit reason

I think you're approaching this the wrong way.

This manga isn't about some crafty MC with the most efficient puzzle solving skill. This is about a nigh-omnipotent MC experimenting with his power in the most amusing way possible.

It would not surprise me in the least if he could somehow manifest the former pope's anti-symbol arrow in some form of AoE effect. And then apply an anti-monster attribute to it and make the stampede go poof in a single snap of finger.

But that wasn't what made me read this manga. It would just be some panels of him pondering and then whoops, problem solved.
