Hmmm… this manga is not doing a great job of showing rather than telling Azu’s development. We never got a baseline of how he felt turning into a girl, so his statement about getting used to his new form falls flat.

It seems to be essentially a Rom-com with some gender bending.
The manga kind of addresses Azumi bring gender dysphoric in this chapter. The part where she said that she was happy when she discovered she had changed, that implies that she wasn't happy as a male.
