some interesting historical information:
seeing how the series has a victorian/medieval europe setting, that Rogue maid would be facing some serious punishment for her actions, which would be considered defamation/gosip/slander, ranging from having her tongue cut out if she cant afford to pay a fine based on a evaluation of her lifes value, to excommunication where even her own family is forbidden to aid her in any way or form, or public shaming and humiliation where she has to bow and crawl on the ground and beg them for forgiveness or getting locked up in the stockades, but considering on top of all this she also planned to assassinate their daughter, adopted or not, she's nobility, meaning the only thing awaiting her is death, and it would not have been a humane one, nor would it have been quick, and this is a world of magic and she used dark magic and curses on a noble family, who is a ruling lord of a territory, giving him authority to execute her without a court, he could of course stand trial for it if people voiced their concerns to higher authorities, which i doubt anyone would considering circumstances, and he most certainly woulöd have been found to be within his rights if he would have faced a court for his actions.
