I know that this world does not function like ours. But let's look at it like this. Do you really think they persecuted those women because of christianity? No, it's simply just fear of the unknown and lack of knowledge (among other elements such as jealousy, envy, ...) that led them to such destructive action. The Christianity values were just an excuse, a tool to justify their wrongdoing. So yeah, if you ask me if this world can be that extreme, I'd say yes, because like us they also have lack of knowledge and full of fear, jealousy and envy. Of course that won't be driven by Christianity, but that doesn't mean it can't happen.
And btw I wasn't being mean to you or anything, why does your comment look like you're pissed off? Chill out, "ma dude"
YILPRA (Yup, it's long. Please read anyway😁)
No, I have no emotions towards this, or any comment, for that matter. I speak very "matter of factly", very 1+1 logical, because it's how I think. I think it comes off cold when you type it out, but that's all there is to it.
As far as the reply goes, I said they had a million things to fear, but no way to protect themselves. So, yes, fear of the unknown (which was EVERYTHING for those uneducated fools) is always the major cause of human panic. Being puritan Christian did play a huge role in everything that America came to be, not just the witch trials. The reason there's even racism in America is stemmed from this. America was built with PURITAN Christian values and those values were VERY warped on what a human is and how a human should act, look, etc. The laws were built around this understanding (since it was the religion at the time), and for hundreds of years now, the laws have slowly been evolving away from that extremely biased understanding of what "a good, heaven-worthy human" is. They're now moving towards equality and real freedom by simply removing the uneducated bias. Back then, going against their puritan codes of conduct WOULD have gotten you killed. You couldn't be different.... at all. So, when the girls made up their story and brought some realism to it with their trickery, it was enough to send their uneducated, extremely biased community into a frenzy. Other communities (mostly puritan, but sometimes another country's religions equivalent, as they were all crazy biased back then) learned about what happened, and like humans do, freaked the fuk out and caused mayhem across the world, killing all those that were different from the mold each of their biased doctrines preached to be.
