Even if the grandfather dislikes his son in law, he will be angry at the employee for being a complete failure of a merchant

Merchants go off trust and mutual benefit, if only one merchant in a deal is making a profit from an enterprise and the other party isn't then trust in them will completely dismiss and no-one will willingly do trade with them.

Furthermore, if they belong to an organisation, then trust in that organisation will be lost.

I doubt he knows any of that, but from what I understood of the last chapter, his boss doesn't care much about his son in law and certainly doesn't care for his "granddaughter" as she's adopted. So I'm not sure the guildmaster will take their side.

No, but honestly? Wonder if this’ll go similar to how (iirc) the first season of ascendence of a bookworm ended where the MC (justifiably) crashed out and started to fucking assault her parents’ aggressors (church people). And honestly? Hoping for it. Love this kind of twist and unfolding plot—where the only other I’ve seen is from the aforementioned anime/manga.

Doubt anyone will see this comment specifically, since there’s already 45 comments, but who knows. Better to leave my thoughts here in case, y’know?? W MC though. Guessing the SFX at the end there was rattling of the furniture based on their reactions and the current scenario… so here’s to hoping she unleashes hell upon them.
