I'll just say the translation got a whole lot of mistakes all over the places.

Like his thought before getting hand'd was actually "Even if I'm not the hero" (hence the punch line of the chapter + the hand's 'you did say so')
They didn't even show the evil country's name (Ra-a-ku)

MC is still in denial and as of the most recent chapter I saw have escaped to try and find Hitomi.
The prince is like "sure, let her go, soon enough she'll know there's nowhere for her to go but back here"
