i.e. much like the author's previous 2 works, our protagonist here is not the 'main character' of the story

although in the previous 2 cases they were supporter to the main character, this time he become 'the villain that the killed the childhood friend of the main character'

So the god-thing was like "you did say even if you're not the hero..."

I got from this was Hitomi-chan is the hero thats suppose to kill the demon lord. The demon lord created Aki-kun's new body as a weapon against the hero. The weapon was an attempt to kill the hero but Aki-kun's first body grts caught in the cross-fire and an entity (god?) allows Aki-kun to be reincarnated into the weapons body who killed him in the first place. Now they're on opposite sides and no one but Aki-kun and (god?) knows he's in the weapons body. Hitomi-chan is even more driven because Aki-kun's old body died.

Also lots of people tend to vote 1's for gender-bender mangas even when the story is pretty original and promising 🤔

This is just my opinion.
The plot is moving too fast. I would prefer if they take it slow and tell a proper story. In chapter 1 they could have created two chapters instead of one chapter, for example. Chapter 1 could have focus on the main character dying and being reborn into the unknown body then trying to know why is he in that body, then chapter 2 could have focus on the hero then realizing that the hero is someone he knows. But this is just my taste in story telling, I know many people would prefer a story that is told fast and finishing each major plot points in a single chapter. And also remember the first sentence I said.
This is just my opinion.
