Aesir is really good at leaving stuff for later. He requests information on the current political situation and available travel routes, thinks it is going to be a pain and just waits another year for good measure.

But I am glad he finally made up his mind to look for his adoptive son. I don't have a proper grasp on the timeline, but I am pretty sure it has been roughly half a century. Wynn played with Aiha's grandfather when they were young afterall.

I will shorten the title to "isekai time skip" in my mental notes. Not to be confused with "isekai time stop," which is full of sexual molestation :notlikethis:

I think it elevates this kind of story. We’re following the perspective of an elf who’ll live far longer than anyone else in the series. The way this manga tackles this kind of life is genuinely beautiful and I’ve loved every second of it.

On the off-chance that anyone does complain, they probably don’t care much for actual story so it’s best not to humor their ignorance :)

This is my favorite thing about this story. We get to be in the shoes of an elf who will outlive everyone he meets.
Also, Aesier is just a really likable MC. I do love how we see an elf MC who isnt stuck up their own ass and actually know how to enjoy life.

A lot of stories like this just shows the aftermath of the main character living a long life, making them wise and basically playing new game plus.
This story is the only one I've read so far that actually puts us in the present time. We are seeing Aesier's first playthrough.

I hate I know which series you are talking about.
It's such a guilty read. It's so trash in the most insane thing possible. I can't look away on what batshit insane fantasy the author wants to incorporate

i do wonder how Wynn is faring since it's been quite some time since we last saw him. he might even look older than Aesir at this point, not only from aging but from the things he's been through since it looked quite bleak the last time we did see him...
Probably not good, he was injured last time - by the time Aesir gets their he'll be a grizzled vet with PTSD. It may even flip Aesir's switch and cause him to go all Omni-Man on the West. He's done it once or twice before enough that it scares him, but he may just get angry enough for it

Its a common trope in fiction and stories where characters with long lifespans are detached from human sentimentality and sense of time but this is the only manga that actually showed and made me feel that disparity in its full weight without it turning into an anecdote or a character trope were supposed to just accept. Each chapter gets harder and harder to read simply because characters im fond of inevitably die, the sceneries and landscape changes, every meeting is a farewell waiting to happen. At this point i dont know if i have it in me to keep reading newer chapters.

I was pointing out how the manga is great at "showing" time dissonance of the characters and here you come with some "you dont like apple so you must like oranges" type ass response lmao. But no i dont want to live forever and i believe in a quote an annoying jg character in a toxic game once said "its not about how much time you have, its how you use it"

I love how he’s being more and more elf, and less like Japanese guy isakaied into fantasy world. I mean, he lived there for longer than on Earth, so why should he be still obsessing about it.

Another village turning into a whole town just because of Aesir, I bet in a few chapters when MC visits again, it'll have turned into a massive, prosperous city :meguu: and as usual with this manga, the NPCs are the ones getting all the romance while MC gets absolutely zero. I honestly thought there'd be some romance between MC and Aiha, but nope, literally nothing at all :haa:

thank you for translation
Yeah, I was hoping for that too... Sadly our MC here is too self conscious...

If not for the food and internet, I don't think anyone will be obsessing with Earth. Not a good planet to remember, to be honest.

Naw man, I'm just corroborating to your statement.

I should've just put the question in quote instead. Sorry if it felt like I attacked you.

The reason why I put the question is because your post describes how painful it is to be immortal and people that want to be immortal often overlooked in this aspect.

  • plans to leave the village soon
  • takes two years to actually do it
Ah yes. Elven timelines.

You say that as if they wouldn't party for five years :dogkek:
Well, just as you mentioned... "just passing thorugh" might be a decade 😅 .
