He lived for around 150 years at this point, and still went into a battle with no plan, no strategizing... Wtf. What he needs to learn first is not trade skills or swordsmanship, but actual education. It's unbelievable that he's this slow in the head given that he remembers his past life as a human.

and for those 150 years he has never NEEDED a plan using the spirits he was able to basically brute force everything. be it sword or bow or spirits he was strong enough to power through it all. hell in this chapter he even curses himself for being so stupid to not expect a hermit, who commands the power of nature, to be able to counter his spirits.

he is so used to just rushing in first and making a plan up on the fly after the fact that its become a habit and here it bit him in the ass. its not as stupid and far fetched as you think and him remembering his past life is irrelavent given the very simple fact that THIS IS NOT HIS PREVIOUS WORLD.
