I totally thought they would get to eat it this chapter. My balls are blue but my brain is full of hope. Can’t wait to see their minds blown with the yummy dish. It’s been a while since I’ve had it.

Thanks for the translation!

i love how they don't even question his culinary skills, or rather, where he gets them from. pasta, he might have read about it, but his first octopus encounter and he already knows the recipe? well.. so long it's delicious, let's not ask questions i guess. xd

To be fair, the octopus is a normal-looking creature for humans who lived on the mainland. So maybe some people do not like it.

Yeah, not the best place to practice. Just walk a little bit farther away from other people.

"That's kind of impressive in its own way."
Getting that much crap, yeah. And not even a matching pair of boots.

No culture of eating octopus? What are those? Not-people? People eat anything edible and half the things that aren't.

"I'm sure you'll both love it..."
You should put an "almost" in there. It's funnier.

"So I've done some octopus preparation before."
Because of course you have.

One guy believes in him. For good reason.

They're acting as if someone asked them to eat poison. Which people do.

It's an easy difficulty world where everyone always has their belly full, so they can be extremely selective about what they eat, never trying anything out of desperation or idle curiosity born out of hunger. In our world, in the past, people ate everything edible simply because we live in a high difficulty world. Famines have killed countless people. In that isekai, there probably never was a single famine. Maybe they don't even have a word for such a thing.

Didn't they mention in an early chapter that no one starved to death over the winter like it was unusual?

Though it's possible the author just forgot about that. Plus there's that one chubby friend and his sister.

And remember, kids!

The more sentient and human-like in intelligence a creature is, the better it tastes! But only in isekai!
(Otherwise, toddlers would be considered veal, I guess...) :wtf:
