We're 30 chapter in without the slow life part being desecrated, unlike other 'slow life' manga where it just goes along the lines of "Hey 3 chapters of calm then, OH NO THERES A DEMON KING YA GOTTA KILL!".

This manga deserves a rating from between a 7-8. The rating it has now is too low imo.

I get that a lot of it is done in jest, and I'm not necessarily admonishing any of the cast written here for being overtly abusive towards the kid, but a lot of what happens in here could constitute as child abuse in a modern setting. In a medieval setting? I wouldn't know, I have no frame of reference.
It's definitely frustrating to see it happening to someone that, quite obviously, doesn't seem to mind it as it's considered to be all in good faith, which is of course reinforced in the chapters that put more thought into the sibling relationships. However, that doesn't really detract from that I'm not especially fond of watching a child (even if it's an adult in a child's body) being physically and emotionally pounded repeatedly to drive forward a dysfunctional familial joke.
Eh, 6.5/10 for not taking itself seriously like other "slow lives", which seem to separate the title from the reality of the content entirely. Definitely wouldn't recommend it to most people, but I guess it has its niche.

When they say slow life, they really do mean it. As in nothing interesting happens. There is no motivation, no suspense. It's just a plain guy living life with pretty strong magic which he does nearly nothing with. In other "slow life" mangas where there's a demon lord, the protagonist has an actual goal, which is to gain a "slow life", and goes through various conflicts. In here, we are introduced to bland characters every few chapters, and that's the only form of fun there is besides him using magic or using modern knowledge, which gets kinda bland. Another point is the family and him getting picked on. It was maybe funny the first few times but it gets annoyingly repetitive and is mostly unwarranted. If there were more scenes of them getting along, then maybe the harassment is okay as a form of bonding, but nearly all his interactions with the sister is him getting hurt. All we know about their relationship is that she hits him, and maybe they have fun sometimes. Nothing else.

Overall, gets boring fast, and the only parts where my hearts gets pumping is when it get annoying, which is three quarters of the time.

people expecting too much of actions hence why they would rate it low, but the slow pace and slice of life and the comedy are actually good in this manga, just enjoy it as if watching a fluff not as action

Yep this is a good slow life iseakia

Art isn't great but nothing is in danger, the summers are long and everyone's in a good mood

Why don't you grab some of your favorite tea and just read some simple and charming stories :)

I'm dropping this, not because I think it's bad, but the characters are just not for me. I'm not sure how much physical banter is too much, but this does seem a bit extreme. The maid is stealing candy from a fucking child, what a good caretaker; the sister is also just an all-around annoyance on every level. I know that it's a SoL comedy, so I shouldn't take the interactions too seriously, but that's how it is for me. If I could change one thing, I wish the boy would be more mischievous. If he's gonna get patted down for candy make it justified by pranking her all the time. Same with the sister. The dynamics between these two girls is just powerless boy against overbearing woman.

I've been going through all out of date manga I'm following, and I swear LH has 90% of the damn things. I thought they fixed all their drama, but clearly not :(

I read all chapters including the ones not on here and its ok the start is confusing and what’s with [all the game chapters like he literally made one game and the whole town is like “WOOOOOOO THATS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR” like there was no games before he was born and you do see evidence of gaming in that world because of the game he plays with torr in chapter 30-35 tbh idk but whattttt] also there were many changes to do something interesting but no he get away scot free like [when he teased his dad about his nickname and he told him to get ready for practice, you could’ve made an arc about how his dad hit him so had he got seriously hurt and while treating him they connected together as a family and grew closer BUT NO JUST HAVE HIM WAKE UP AND BE LIKE “what happened” ??????? and the SISTER WHY. SERIOUSLY WHY DID YOU MAKE HERE LIKE THAT SHE COULD HAVE BEEN cute and adorable and wants nothing more than her family to be happy BUT NO YOU MADE ME WANT HER TO HAVE HER TOILET SEAT COLD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT LIKE I NEVER WISH THAT ON ANYONE ] anyway i hate the sister some chapters are half a chapter and don’t bother reading it unless you want a bunch of people in a bar playing a dumb game a 4 year old made, don’t read it read solo leveling
