No, I was not sheltered which is why I can recognize a shitty personality from far away and even easier when I have access to more information than I would have IRL.
Every member from the family, including the maids and excluding the cook, are selfish and unfair toward him. His brother see all of it and is passive about all while also imposing on the MC for no reason, if you didn't realized the MC is afraid of the members of his family (for some reason) and a re-read with that in mind might let you pick on this also.
Then there is the townsfolk. I have little to say about them because so far they have not had much character to speak off but the lady from the inn is absurd on her hypocrisy and on how she is clearly using him acting like he owns her when he does anything new or is just at the bar many times. I can just write it off as she being a women in a manga, as women in manga usually have that shitty personality, but that doesn't excuse the way she acts anyway.
So far the only people that are not reprehensible are the ones that are not a fixed part of his life and I'm wishing it to be because they are good characters and not just because there has not been enough time to show that they are just like everyone with lots of screen time so far.

In resume he gets no recognition from his family to a point even the employees treat him badly, he is always afraid of doing anything because of them, and when he demonstrate any talent they get afraid of him, the only respect he receive is from the townsfolk and that does not reach everyone in town but just those that knows of him by what he creates not because of who or what he is. All in all he is a very lonely and abused character and the only reason I can see for it not be seen by everyone is that most of the abuse comes from the female characters.

yah, I agree some of your reason, JP Stories often have female characters take advantage to other male characters that seem like JP male author mindset cuz shoujo genre rarely have this type (in shoujo genre even in big sis oppress little bro situation, little bro still has some retort or resist to act)

but instead of he's scared by them, I think he's more soft to them with that same mindset I told earlier, JP male author often make female character untouchable from male character to point that it seem annoying

I think the people in his life are not "supposed" to be shitty by the author, its supposed to be a bit of friendly teasing, comedy ect, but yes, seen from a real-life-point of view they are indeed shit :x

We saw the maids literally stealing candy from a 6 year old. Not even some of the candy, just outright raided all of the candy like they were mongolian meido hordes. He is technically their SUPERIOR. They aren't good people on multiple levels and that applies to much of the cast tbh.

The sister is the only "bad" one that's understandable since she's a child and not actively malicious.

Inn lady is exploiting him. The parents have severely beaten him up for knowing his chunni name or mild teasing. Merchant man is a traitorous fiend unworthy of trust.
I'm sure the list could expand further in the future but psychopathy in japanese manga doesn't really bother me for long since it's so common to begin with .
