I'm on the same page with you. I mean, cmon, i understand why it can be embarassing, if it's just nickname that you thought up in your youth, just because it "sound cool"...
But in his case, it's his actual title as "the one who slayed a dragon". Are dragons such pathetic wimps that it's embarassing to tell others that you are strong enough to slay one? No!
I would say that autor just messed up, he applied logic of our present time and real world, that can't be applied to magic middle ages. That's only embarassing if it's stinks from chunibyou, which obviously should be absurd notion in that novel.

@Med1um Say you bought and brought medicine to a village about to die in an epidemic, would you not find it embarrassing if people hoisted the title of "savior" on you for that? Sure it might be accurate, and it is a feat that is hard to produce, but man it would be embarrassing if people started heaping praise on you for it. Or for something less altruistic, say you do some kind of sports and won a world championship. Imagine the horror it would be if people started calling you by the title "world champion".

Man that girl is annoying, and I can't tell if she is young (makes sense for feudal society) or if author decided to make it one of those "looks young, but is actually legal"simply because author wanted such a character (makes less sense for feudal society).

well, "savior" would be embarassing indeed, but mostly because i wouldn't expect that from the people that i was just trying to save. Long story short, i don't need such title as "savior", i didn't help them to be hailed as such.
But in case of world champion - nope, i wouldn't be embarassed. I fought, and i win. I take pride in my achievement, and will gladly give out autographs to people who recognize me. And the case of slaying a dragon is definitely in line with the second case (world champion).
There are huge difference between taking pride in your achievement and being embarassed of being called savior or saint for something undeserved of this title. Or at the very least, it would be a problem if "saint" would be haughty about this "achievement" in the first place.

Why does it feel like a 12 year old is trying to adopt a 6 year old...

@Med1um I get that you will take pride in your achievement (I would too). But that is disjointed from the title in my opinion. As another note, the title "world champion" is maybe somewhat poorly picked, because it isnt factual: a world-champion clearly didn't beat up everyone in the whole world (which makes it somewhat cringy). imo dragonslayer however isnt all that bad (like you said, it is quite on-the-point, which makes it decent). But literally any title when used to refer to someone in awe makes me cringe. Normally respectful titles like "doctor"/"professional"/nobility are fine, but even there, if the user would say it with awe in their voice rather than as a somewhat respectful factual statement, I would be embarrassed. So rather than saying that the title is chuuni, it is the fact that people idolize it that makes it.

how does "I want a little brother" jumps to "do you want to be my child"?

I'm assuming at some point he's gonna make the princess a wheelchair and blow everyone's minds with the concept of a wheely chair.

Is she already pregnant? If he “becomes her child” then he could gain a little brother.

IF you keep in mind that she is about 12 years old or something around that. Then words she said wasn't that absurd in the last page. But what is quite astounding is the fact that she was married off at such a young age.
