As far as we're aware, the Remington daughters aren't involved in what the head was plotting behind the scenes against Lia, though we do know that her husband was aware, so I really wouldn't say that it's a family trait to be evil.

We'll have to see what the deal was with her father next chapter, but I expect that those events shaped her. I think it'd be quite absurd for the father to state that his daughter should not become heir when he apparently only had her as a child, so I expect he'll reveal he had another child with another woman who is a boy. That's going to hit her mother hard and probably start her evil arc.

judging by her interactions with Lady Julia, i might guess it was the second one, especially since the daughter was raised right.

probably there was other successor and this person is the one who trying to stir up the 4 lords Family so they can rise up/ as revenge.

i wish that was the case, especially with the usual misunderstood vilainess trophs. i kinda feel bad if the mother of this 2 good daughters is gonna be evil.

I'm gonna guess that Lady Remmington wanted to eliminate Lia as a potential rival for one of her daughters marrying the imperial prince. If her own father really tried to undermine her succession, it would make sense that she be obsessive over securing her own daughters' statuses

Based on everything that was said and happened before in this series, I would be ready to bet that he wanted to “save her“ from the shackles of the ritual, and he wanted her to live her live as she wanted… thinking that her wanting to become the head was “just” from a sense of obligation, and refusing to hear her about it, basically trying to “force” freedom upon her, that she never wanted. And that’s probably what made her cold like that. Oh, there was probably also zero communication of him telling her that, so she really just thought he was a bigot, exactly like that first impression of him that we get.
