Tanuki man doesn't seem to be a bad guy. Just has a noble's way of seeing things.
If I recall correctly, the Butler who got Hanna hired went into hiding after rescuing her brother who was being used as leverage against her? Or was the brother dead all along? Been a few years since reading the beginning chapters.
