Only if we take it according to modern sensibilities. Remember the setting and people are in a place where everyone is generally very conservative, and what more, the aristocracy have certain personal protocols for personal space and distance between people, especially with the opposite sex. The royals even moreso, and the Prince would have received that orientation as part of his education.

Going into his highness' condition, signs suggest it is running a bit out of control, and it rather does bear a resemblance to the Devouring in Ascendance Of A Bookworm. But rather than pain...the impression I get is that it's affecting his mental state by either affecting his hormones, or intoxication and directly affecting his mind. If the latter, then his condition is essentially getting mana-drunk. Like alcohol, his magic has to run its course through his system, but over a longer period of time, and nobody in the palace seems capable of diagnosing that.

Based on context, rather than his fever being dissipated, it just seemed to me he didn't have a fever at all. At least not in the physical sense, and Lia already suspected that just from looking at him.
Your first paragraph goes against what's been happening between the prince and Lia all this time. Not only was he not reserved around her, he actively wanted to play with her and in fact did play a lot with her these past few chapters. I'm more a believer of turning off your brain while reading fantasy manga because I have never, ever found a story where there wouldn't be plot holes in their societies, economies, foreign policies and physiology. Usually in all 4 places and this isn't an exception

I hope you enjoy today's chapter, time to wash my uniform and try to sleep.
Give yourself time to rest. Instead of uploading a chapter a day, just work on a chapter every day. That way you aren't pressured further by this on top of your course load. Consider cutting back even further if need be, too. Prioritize your sanity.

And thank you for all your work, past, present, and future.

Good practice to turn off your brain. Many stories can be very nonsensical, so sometimes it's for the best to be able to just enjoy it.

In this case, there are enough parallels with IRL practices to make comparisons. There is a very fine line between playmates and intimacy. The distance and space of personal contact where the faces are that close can be perceived as the implication of something intimate, especially in settings and even historical eras where people wed early. Same reason why people like their guards don't react to when they play, versus Lia pressing her forehead against his. It's not as simple as how formally reserved or how casual one should behave around other people. There are other nuances which are considered when it comes to mannerisms which modern western culture has begun to set aside.

A modern example is Japanese society. Since this is a Japanese authored manga, the author likely took inspiration from that. Like how there are differences in social distance and intimacy between using surnames or first names to address a person, the use of honorifics, or even what kind of honorifics to use. But this exists in their culture as common practice, in what would be considered by the aristocracy as the tier of commoners. What more in those who possess court ranks and fiefdoms.

Like when Lia's father complained about how the Prince addressed Lia, but he brushed it off. In one sense, if he were say, 10, it could be considered irresponsible, but as an adult, it can also be called a flex and minor abuse of power because he outranks Lia's father in the court, so he can't do anything about it anyway. Then there's touch permission, but I won't dive into that.
