This was an okay manga.

The art was alright, the story was predictable, basically its your typical shoujo.

Of course, this manga left a lot to be desired. The characters barely developed, we only got backstories of some characters and not others. Some major plot points were left unresolved such as:
[ul]
Where that hand from the cave came from?
Who's hand was it?
What was Kishou's power?
Who was the first "Maria"?
Do you have to be male in order to be a "Maria"?
Now that Sei can become a woman, does that mean he can bear Toki's children? (jk this is just my own curiosity)
[/ul]

All in all I gave it a 7/10 since it did have a plot that made sense for the most part. I read it all at once so it didn't take me long so I upgraded the score from a 6 to a 7 just because the story didn't unnecessarily drag on.

If you choose to read it, go ahead but if you don't choose to read it, you aren't missing anything important.

I can't go past chapter 3.

The MC sure is annoying.

Although it is true that the MC turns into female and that this is a shoujo manga, I think even young female audience would understand when their life is in danger and that he doesn't need to be the stereo typical "good girl" nor does he need to be effeminate.

I love gender benders, but this, this just feel lazy.

the "Stop the violence please" persona is an annoying trope for me and the MC is either Too stupid or Too dense to understand that their life is in danger, which is a characteristic I hate the most.

Yes it fell into a lot of trope holes, but considering when this manga was first released I can't complain too much. My biggest issue is that there wasn't enough time to really engage with most of the characters. So much so several characters and plot points could have been skipped without any great impact.

I think this would actually be an interesting story for a remake though. If it was given at least 5 or 6 volumes to explore things like the missed character back stories, the nature of sex vs gender and the psychological implications for suddenly and involuntary having your sex changed, and how different childhood trauma/up brings would bring about expressions of, or an abhorrence of violence for different reasons.
