Oh I see, Rakugo despite how it may at first seems is actually a very trained and disciplined performing art. One of the thing a Rakugoka learn during their apprenticeship is how to do a performance exactly as practiced. They learn by watching their master perform a story and aim to mimic it exactly. She started the test run by doing it naturally and when Akuto (in this case serve as her senior/master) told her to do it exactly like the test run her characterization changes from a natural one to a very scripted almost robotic one. At least that's what it seems like at this point.
In Akane Banashi, the series about rakugoka it's a constant issue to balance telling a story exactly how it must be told and how to infuse a personal characterization into it and it is particularly difficult thing for someone in her middle rank (Futatsume?) as they try to grow from their copying beginner days and trying to be a master of their own art.
