Well, sure, but she just happens to reside in a brutal fantasy world now. She has already been there for quite some time. She hasn't really got any concrete connection to the old world and her old life. Her only friend from the original world got turned into an intelligent tentacle monster. So, she shouldn't be a 2nd year high school girl at this point. She's not in Kansas anymore. She's already a character in an action story, whether she wants it or not. So, she could show a bit of initiative to entertain us as a character.

Probably. The main-ish female character was intentionally put in danger and rescued by some random ass new character/s. The MC magically found "his" body that he'll probably have to directly fight or fight something to get it back. Reeks of 1~3 chapters left to wrap up some crack head ending where he winds up getting his body back, popping some cherries and starts some massive harem to repopulate the new above ground tentacle world.

Unlikely, the artist basically said it wasn't about to end soon and it sells well so it probably isn't getting axed. But you guys are right in a sense, the series does feel like it's entering its final saga.
