Ahh the woes of worldbuilders! Ryoko Kui is surely a master of her craft and it really shows.

It also addresses the common fantasy (or any storytelling) trope where century old conflicts and deep-seated resentment can't simply be solved with one good deed by the staple fantasy Eiyuu/Yuusha. I wonder how this will translate to Dungeon Meshi end game.

I think it is more like this was a common theme in history, populations migrating to evade war and famine and the culture and claims clash right after with the population already there.
