It almost has to be. I think everyone who read the original manga is going to look at that panel and go, 'wait a minute...'

Some really gratuitous cheesecake shots in this chapter. I know it's to be expected to some extent, especially with the original series as its groundwork (there were plenty of shots of Kiriko in her underwear, and of course the ever-growing exaggerated proportions), but that one crotch shot really stood out as utterly unnecessary. At least in the original series, Kiriko and Celine got presented as skilled chefs first, eye-candy second, but that seems to have been reversed at least as far as the art goes here.

That raise a valid point.
In cooking contest if the food is done before the time limit, why it is not allowed to judge it right away? Instead the cook contestant forced to use the time left to dish up another thing or to kick the finished plate up another notch.

Every other judge got ulterior motives to further boost themselves (and pretty obvious who Spoiled Shogun is and what he wants) and then we got the Ikebana student girl and the monk who just want to eat lots of good food lol
