Need to point out the understanding of consent isn’t at clear in East Asia as NA or Europe. Makes sense some of you aren’t comfortable with it, totally understandable, but it’s also not that out of place in the context of the setting.

This is not just a simple matter of cultural differences. It’s because there is a lack of sex education for teenagers in China. Chinese teenagers have no concept of sexual consent, which may seem obvious to you; they only see it as an expression of affection. Even Chinese readers of this manga might just say "adorable" when they see these chapters.

What is the East Asian understanding of consent, then?

What can be considered "too far" in China, then?

Its easy to explain. The Chinese tend to show a double standard in similar situations. If someone they dislike behaves as described in these chapters, they often react with strong resistance. However, if it's someone they admire or favor, they tend to accept such behavior without objection.
