I dont know how to articulate this well, but Lin Luxi feeling that her mom is tiring despite working hard to provide for her is totally valid given the way her mom acts. Like, yes Lin's mom is providing for her, but she is also guilt-tripping her and controlling her. It's a tricky situation to navigate, even more so when I don't have the skill to describe anything at all

Wholeheartedly disagree. Both their parents arent great. Luxis mom works hard to provide for her, but is also emotionally browbeating her with it. Tongs mom loves her obviously, but is so obsessed with love that her immediate course of action after the pedo is to continue dating and just... neglect her child. Despite Tongs positive spin on it, this whole scene is because she was crying alone at home on her birthday.

oh so they have the same family situations. although Tong Tong's mother is a bit better, she loves Tong Tong so much, but imo she should pour more attention to her own daughter instead of busy dating men right and left like that. Lin's parents are much worse, just fighting each other endlessly, even Lin can't take it anymore and decide to sleep at Tong Tong's house. this is a good plot point so they can become more intimate due to their similar family situations, and curing their loneliness by being together going forward
