I’m not a hundred percent sure, but I believe chapters are not deleted, but merely hidden.
So I think it could still be done.

Megumi did an oblique cut, not perpendicular, this is done to cause more damage to the veins rather to tendons to ensure greater blood flow. This was either accidental or she knew it was the end...

Taku needs to go to professional mental doctor, he has his own undiagnosed issue he postponed to clarify and his uncertainty causes issues with Megumi.
