Yeah I just like arguing on the internet, sorry if I wasted your time lol. Although it was you who assumed I was saying it was just a gag, because I never said that. I said that it was more of a running joke than anything else, and the same could be said for about 25-80% of the relationships in this manga, heck, it could even be said about the manga itself. But yeah Rentarou explained their relationship best all the way back in that first kissing zombie incident "you two are way too into each other!"

Exactly, you can't call them a Yuri couple if their interactions are just jokes and they have no romantic interest in each other. Even the massage girl and the hungry girl have done more couple stuff then Hakari and Karane. Honestly at this point it seems like the author is deliberately not letting them have a couple chapter, because there have been 5 daily life of Rentarou's family chapters and not once did Hakari and Karane hang out together, not even by accident.
