It's funny reading these comment sections, because I blocked that guy when I saw his annoying rants, back when Chiyo was introduced, so now the only way for me to even know that he made a comment is to see other people replying to him.

I think that was more a translation convention. They more than likely were imitating a different Japanese dialect that makes them sound more rude, which can be hard to translate to English. It's like how those from southern Japan like Mie or Osaka are given southern accents, or how Katsuya Jounouchi/Joey Wheeler from YuGiOh! didn't use honorifics so he got a Brooklyn accent in the dub.
