I like this well enough and I think they overall do a decent job with the tropes at play, but I really feel like it's taken things a little too far with the degree to which the characters muddle things up regarding the relationship at the heart of this story. Again, overall a decent job but there will come a point that it feels like they're beating a dead horse by not having resolved one specific core misunderstanding that's been around from the very very start and which does get discussed at various points.
It might just be a personal pet peeve but the "he can't possibly want someone as worthless as me" (or variants thereof) grind on my patience. That said, it's a lot more tolerable in the instances where the characters do have valid reasons to have doubts and act on information that should give them pause.
