That was an interesting scene in the lack. People are suggesting it was cartaphilus though the hair looked like Chise's own. Perhaps it's the remnant of him from the eye, since she still has that eye, being influenced by her own desires and the dragon's curse? Her situation doesn't really have a precedent after all.
