Man, im having trouble following this on a monthly basis. I always end up re-reading the previous 3 or so chapters to remind myself what was happening

@RexNemorensis How? This is a story about the characters, not their abilities, so the most important aspects of the characters are who they are. Chise is a fundamentally flawed person with no idea of her own self worth, and that flaw is why she always gets into trouble. She has a flaw that has legitimate consequences. Sure, everything turns out well, but she often has to rely on someone else to get things done. Yeah, on paper "Immortality(?), Super Strength, Super Senses, Really good at Dream/Memory Magic" is quite a stacked character, but she rarely resolves things through her own power, these are effectively meaningless to her in any conflict. Basically, her character is inherently flawed in a way that creates conflict, and despite her abilities, she usually has to rely on someone else to get things done (she may still get things done herself, but she's the protagonist, so that's expected, she is still heavily reliant on others to get her through things).

@RexNemorensis Mary Sue? Nope. Chise still has a lot of flaws. Also any good human would hesitate to kill if you learn that your opponent has a child. There are examples with soldiers in wars. Moreover, Chise is an orphan so she understands best what would happen to a child without parents.

@Yautja Chise isn't being a sue, she's traumatized from her past experiences, and can't murder someone who might have a child because she wouldn't be able to live with putting someone else through what she went through. also she's disturbed by her new cruel instincts, and wants to prove that she's not a killer

Chise sympathising with the enemy again. Not sympathising with the poor ungulates that are paying with their lives for this nonsense.
If your enemies have a child, that doesn't mean you shouldn't kill them. It means you should track down and kill the child too.
