Those future surveys I always never liked.
Like how are you meant to know what you want to do in the future? The choices are so wide and vast and encompass so many categories.
Many people end up in a job they would of never suspected to be in, when they were young.

Mashiro makes good points too on this.

Sure for some people they might be useful but not for a majority.

This is my fourth time rereading this series. I especially love Nagisa and Mashiro's early moments. This chapter might be my personal favorite in terms of what i deem first-class yuri. Strong, yet not fully understandable emotions, skinship through and through, subtlety in facial expressions, etc. etc. It is just so pure that in turn purifies me while reading it. This is it. This is one of the chapters that show what yuri truly is about. It really tells that the author knows what she is doing and that she clearly loves yuri herself.

I think the primary reason schools do them is for the simple reason of getting the students to think about their future. Sure, most of the plans they make up on those surveys aren't likely to come to pass, but it will get them to start planning at the very least
