The term ancient China is not really correct since in history, China was founded on 1912 and Song dynasty on 960 would be the first time China was united as a big country, before that China was split into multiple countries that always fought with each other.

@Quiescent-Rose: All part of the scam. The kidnappers pretended to be her family, and sold her off to the court to get the money and part of her income in their name. Presumably, threats were made against her father to ensure compliance. Now that particular 'family' has been cut out of dealings with the court entirely, MaoMao not only does not have anyone keeping her there, as a supposed member of the merchant family she's also supposed to be kicked out.

@Mingxingxing Also, depending on the level of castration, if it's just the testes, which is most common, then many are still capable of an erection and orgasm. Penectomy castration was fairly uncommon, so, while eunuchs generally had lowered sex drive, that did not mean they could not perform and enjoy penetrative sex.
