@Kuroww At least in my case I think she's very annoying. As other comment said, she ignored him when he was being bullied before, right when he started being stronger she immediately changed that. Whenever he does something(that doesnt concern her, by the way) she doesnt like she starts complaining, and she interrupted him when he's trying to flirt with the teacher. For me it's not even a case of being useless, but being a pain in the ass. By the way, she even tried to stop MC fight against that David, though she did nothing when MC was being bullied

@kamishiniyari I quite like her. She's an idealist, that's why she's nagging like that all the time, because Frey isn't living up to her idealism. Of course it's all because she's still a kid who hasn't seen the real world, but perhaps this battling training journey will fix that. Nevertheless, she's not hopeless since she's actually ready to work hard and train, even risk her life by joining Frey's training trip. I respect her more than that bully David, who had nothing going on for him but his family's trademark magic he used shamelessly to oppress others or those random silkpants students who tried to bribe Frey to save them, even if it meant sacrificing other students of lesser means. Because she is like she is, Frey can endlessly make fun of her.

This chapter actually was the point where i decided to stop. Tbh, I enjoy the novel more, there's no Isabelle sticking with him, and the Frey there isn't a MILF lecher. and

battling, as far as the novel goes, wasn't a battling journey, it literally just a battle of your internal mana until they reach equilibrium

I didn't read the spoiler, but that alone is quite a change. Is this one of those adaptations that barely have anything to do with the source?

@Kaarme , I am not sure since I didn't read the manhwa far enough to compare, but up to this chapter, the most striking difference was Isabelle, and the other would be Frey's action, in the manhwa he mostly acted based on whim, whereas in the novel he seemed to be more calculating and cut throat about everything, and yeah, there almost no comedy in the novel as far as I remember. The event itself didn't change that much.
I guess it's more of publisher rights (redice), or even the author himself wanting to change the story and do what he didn't manage to do b4 (though I doubt the latter, because if he wanted to fix thing, he shouldn't put comedy but instead start to fix the inconsistencies relating to that 4000 years time skip).
