Guess it is because a red dragon was already almost dead (lost both wings) and had 0% chance to survive so she would tell some trash before passing away. But damn Rurin did overkill her.

You don't seem to understand.
The red dragon learnt that there's a dragon in her cellars, went down to meet her, found out it's a mighty black dragon, and started provoking her knowing she'd probably end up dead. Why the fuck did she start to heckle her?

Well, because the author wanted a way to shoe in some details on her mother.

Judging from how the knight is supposed to be dead, I'm assuming the dragon is on the same boat. Probably still alive, or probably being kept alive. Is the next enemy going to be a necromancer? I hope it's someone who can threaten the MC this time.

Would be quite strange for anyone BUT the equivalent of the Dragon King to threaten the MC, would make no damn sense as he has already fully consumed most of the Dragon marble, making him incredibly powerful, on the level of a Demi-god even. So either an Arch-lich or Lich King/Demon would be a better opponent, otherwise it would be the power ceiling all over again.

The knight is indeed someone who can threaten the MC

threaten is 100% the right word, ain’t no way he is touching the MC, but the knight is smart, he is the former Imperial Knight captain after all, so if he can’t harm the OP MC, there are other option around him.

They got up to chapter 58 on their website, but I guess MD is just not their priority.
Or the extra week break in the schedule (this series seems weekly on their site) after this chapter (it was two weeks) has thrown them off?
