I don't understand how this arc fits in this series at all
at first, i was thinking maybe they wanted to try something new since we have had it good for a while now. but this got me thinking maybe this is setting up for a trip to the underworld for a rescue mission. our boy is a mage with unprecedented power, so no one knows what he is capable of, not even himself. he has already opened a portal to a different world so if the afterlife is just another dimension, then it's completely possible. Either way, there will be hell to pay for that noble and everyone who so much as sniffed the air of that place.

now that I think about it that flower is pretty much confirming at least her soul is still in the world so I think there is still hope even if its small. Another question would be, should they bring her back? yes it would be nice but some people have a problem with it since it takes away from the weight of the story, but I believe as long as you make it so that this isn't something that can be done unless meeting certain criteria it still retains the risk of future conflicts

I personally dislike that idea a lot. What exactly is the underworld? If it exists in this world, shouldn't it also exist in his original world, given that magic works there as well? It could bring so many plot holes (that are already open with this side story) that I don't even want to think about it

People are complaining that this is too heavy for this story, when we literally had an arc about the MC going back to his world and finding his mother had passed away in the meantime, or the arc about him finding out about his friends in school all dying in a war?

This fits just fine.

First, I shall thank you for clearing my misconception.

Next is the reason why I said that, I just thought that it's kinda weird. I know that hair could last quite long before decomposing (that is, in the right environment)

For this specific case tho, It's been 5 years since she got taken by the trash, assuming she managed to survive for a year after that(which is very unlikely), that would mean that she gone dead for about 4 years, I assume that's enough time for hair to decompose in such a damp place like a dungeon, at least some of it.
most likely considering the micro organisms as well in the area as well. like a lot of bugs, pest . etc would likely sped up the process. but i think the artist who drew this most likely forgot to include that detail.

If that tower was being managed by those two soon-to-be corpses, maybe they kept bugs out of it because it was one of their living areas. By also restricting airflow into the tower, simply by keeping the door closed, they could keep a dried corpse intact-ish. Not to mention hair is made of dead proteins, so animals don't really feed on it. Decomposition of hair is usually done by fungi, which don't often grow in a dry environment, or by being buried in (direct contact with) soil for around 6 months.

I'm just grasping at straws with this, especially with how Selli's corpse was chained but not caged in the middle of a tower those two seemed to have frequented, meaning it may have been a stop-area for their slave trading; however, it helps me to not divert from the emotion the author wanted to convey in this chapter. I like this simple manhwa, and I don't want to grow to hate it due to small errors like this. (I'll definitely drop it, though, if there are glaring plot-holes that destroy any construction of the story the author/artist has made until now.)

This is getting too tear jerk for me. Every arc has to have more and more terrible injustice in the past so when the heroes win the readers can feel strong emotions. Don't get me wrong, when it works, it WORKS. But it gets stale after a while, at least for me.
