Since the story just started, there isn't really much to say. The art is neat, the plot and setting is neat and the characters are neat. Not enough to wow me or anything but still enjoyable. My only criticism is that he doesn't go into detail about the food.

I was expecting something snarky, like Kemono Michi.... but the wholesomeness of this one warms my embittered heart in a way I didn't expect.

It's redundant- a power fantasy with no struggles or genuine fights. You never expect the MC to lose and basically scoff when the characters think he's ever down.

And worst of all!!!
There's not enough food cooking scenes! It's mostly soap opera shit that ALWAYS benefits the MC with something we'll never see in the background/at best, see it again every few arcs.
It doesn't even have enough fluff to outweigh the amount of creepy bastards the author keeps creating.

So far(ch46) So great! IDK what people are on about in regards to the story not progressing, I mean it has a slice of life vibe but I feel the story progresses at a nice pace. The story does focus on many side character sub plots but they never feel forced and finally the mc isn't trash nor is there any Harem elements. Additionally, it even tackles some deeper emotional ideas of belonging, love and grief. Overall, I'd say it's a surprisingly wholesome and great read.

Also, although there's no Romance tag so far it seems
there is a Romance between the mc and dragon girl
.

Ugh, this used to be about powerful wizard and dragon daughter? girlfriend? who ran a restaurant.. Now it's way too full of politics, people in shadows, fighting..what happened to my nice cozy restaurant story...dropped.

A surprisingly deep story with a simple premise.
Sure you can complain about it deviating from the simple restaurant theme, but the food-themes are incorporated deeply into the MC's character, he doesn't stray from his love of cooking and his simple dream that he achieved, so it doesn't feel like the story does a complete 180 and starts becoming something shitty (looking at you "Mookhyang: Dark Lady"). I'm really enjoying this one.

Chapter 67-68. Fuck off author. That was entirely unnecessary drama added in that ruined it.
Sure it gets fixed later, obviously, but its such a shit feeling to read, and then have to wait another week, and another week.. until its over.

Story went from a 9/10 to a 5-6/10 with just that.

Warning!: Stack up on chapters for the next half a year after chapter 68 in order to just skip that whole "arc".

Shame on the author. Dropping at ch. 64. To think the MC would end up a groomer, no thank you. Have fun supporting a pedophile in this work. Many Japanese perverts would be proud.

Went from 'daughter' to 'girlfriend' at the flip of a hat because 'feelings'. Grooming is disgusting. Don't support it in your media.

I actually do like the story. Both sides are equally balanced. I think the ratings are pretty on point for this one. Story doesnt stray too far from its original purpose, but a bit more emphasis on the restaraunt later on would do better, but deep delve into political and drama does bring out some flavour into a otherwise normal "isekai slow life", and this sort of stuff is hinted at much MUCH earlier. It's just generally a really well made story that despite it flaws, I still enjoy quite a bit, and I think the ratings are pretty pinpoint as of such.

Also the grooming thing... Like, im unsure if yall are viewing this wrong. Lurin atp is probably over 340, and the reason she was the "daughter" to "gf" in the flip of hat due to feelings is because of learning, you know? She spent most of her time with her mom and never really socialized much prior to that other than her family members, in which she socialized even less, making her relationship with the mc even more impactful because he is literally treating her so kindly and interacts with her on daily basis, in which in Lurin's lifetime, she has only ever talked to her family a couple of times aside from her mother . While yes I will agree do not support grooming, I just find it off why you will put it here. Like logically approaching this perspective, shes older than the MC, so it would make sense that she is the one grooming him because shes like 10 times older (maybe even more), but like... I just don't get it, dude. Explain to me, if u want.

Like, I don't understand yall's discontent. If you want to hate it because you hate it, dont just pressure other people into thinking your way. Your opinion is your opinion, and sometimes it can just not make logical sense. Theres one thing I agree with though, that being the cooking scenes are not enough. NEED MORE FOOD RAHHHHHH

I personally would give this a 8.5/10. At first it was relatively nice and peaceful, then it ramps up, but sometimes it feels like the cooking scenes got less and less and the "emotional arcs" got more and more. I personally dont find this a issue, as suffering is a key to happiness, however like, isnt the title called "The archmage's restaraunt"? Where did the focus go? The Archmage?
