Yeah, I can't bring myself to care about any of the characters in this situation. I'm not sure the author thought about the characters holistically or with any sort of plan in mind. They're all just kinda... doing stuff. Like am I supposed to be satisfied with the spoiled prince who for some reason off screen had a change of heart and realized the MC was 100x better but somehow acts with a worse personality? Or the count whose just kinda being a Dick off to the side and weirdly blaming the MC for the prince being a brat yet still indulging in said prince? Or the King who should be given the worst father of the year award? Or even the MC who despite everything is still a pushover and once again indulging in the Prince's ridiculous antics?
Can't say I'm too disappointed it being dropped for being licensed. I really don't know why these "I left/got kicked from a terrible work environment despite being the most OP" insist on dying by their retribution plot. They'd be better off never showing the character's again.
Like I just realized we're in chapter 23 but don't have a clear plot or story. There's a lofty goal but has been little movement towards it. So far it's been a rescue mission, propping up the MC's ego because forgot himself, and spending more time developing the prince than anything. It's really felt like the author rushing everything to be setup when that's not necessary and would be better done over the course of the series.
