Though I still don't understand what's going on.

Just for one: Wasn't it just a few chapters ago where the Gulan's real plan was to attack the elves home subspace? But now they're so far on the back leg, that they want to hide from the wrathful elves before attempting to do that? And they had a test to distinquish Gulan from humans, so why can't the elves use the same test to detect any hiding Gulan and exterminate them. Not to mention that the leading Gulan are all holding high positions in human society -- if they leave that, then they lose it.

And was that an illusion or did the timeline actually change in the past? (But have no lasting impact?)

Blood Spirit empire was super strong, and Solanya was superstrong, but Gulans manage to capture her and a kiddie kills her. Feels like fight outcomes are decided by a throw of the dice.

Emperor had a sad story, so it's okay that he (she) mindwiped someone else to get that person to love her?

Well, I'll keep riding the train, and see what happens next...

This might be the most convoluted story I've ever read coupled with the fact huge chunks are missing between the two published comics

It's gotten to the point I'm invested (+300 chapters can't go to waste) but just now my head at whatever the plot throws
