It's probably because they're skipping a lot of things when adapting the webnovel (or w/e it was) to manhua, so we end up missing a lot of context of how one scene leads to another.

Yeah, they mentioned about getting some kind of power from a dragon or something like that that would allow them to destroy the city. But I think that was a lie from that guy to get the other people to cooperate so he could devour all of them outside the city.

But tbh I'm not entirely sure if that was all that there was to it, since there was that whole part of the thing that gave Lilina that time limited power, which was also there, and that apparently can destroy the city if used. So, idk if that guy knew about that or not (but I'm assuming he didn't, because he didn't seem to go after the piece that was with Lilina and he also got surprised by the power that was flowing out of her after she got out of the lava.)

I think Bai Ji was going after that "evil" Ke'er thing to stop what was hapening in her world, I think, but she lost the fight aainst her in that castle (but Idk if that part was in her own world or not) and got sent to the divine realm (I think) by "evil" Ke'er which is where she is right now in this whole sidequest kind of arc together with Lilina.

There was no dragon, the dragon thing was a lie that devourer created to gather more devourers so they could all go outside the city so he could devour them all and increase his devourer lvl, because that city stops the devourers from attacking one another.

Author just gave up ?

The author is probably trying to set up future developments for Bai Ji and Lilina so this is probably why were's getting these two or more slice of life type of chapters with them both, which might end up with Bai Ji embracing her, I think, because of all these scenes where Bai Ji is being/acting like her mother. (since they probably changed how the story was supposed to go a long time ago so now they have to make new things on the spot.)

Also, like I mentioned before, the way the chapters are presented right now do feel a bit disconnected because they're probably rushing the story (since the original source was like a webnovel or something), so there's probably a lot of part in between showing how one chapter leads to another that we're missing because of that.

I'll be honest tho, I have no clue what the author is even planning to do with that cult thing in her world anymore. Since the elves and "evil" Ke'er just replaced them I guess as the main antagonists I guess.
