A lot of villains in Chinese novels and manhuas are not really villains. They always end up in conflict with the MC because of something stupid like looking for trouble with the MC because of “insert inconsequential incident here” or because the past villain was defeated by the MC so what else can the new villain do but be enemies with the MC. What I mean is that most villains in Chinese novels tend to lack substance and are just there as steppingstones for the MC and as catharsis for the reader.

This little bastard right here is a real villain. He’s not acting against the MC, he’s acting against anyone who stands on his way. His actions don’t revolve on what the MC does, he’s been a little cunt since always and the Mc is just the next target. i really like backstories, they add a lot of juice to the story.

I will now wait in expectation for the day he pays for his cuntiness.
