IMHO she decided to make use of this unexpected boon:
Due to her past experience she probably knows who took the money (No future ally of hers) and how the emperor would react to such a thing.
preemptively punishing her former foe while also cutting at the support of the villainess.

I wasn't sure before but this chapter clarified it for me. Her ex-husbando was not related to the current-timeline's emperor.
Plus, she's not gonna use the current Emperor to turn the tides from the people who hurt her. Good job. I hope the ex-husband's dad doesn't get a bad end though since he was nice to her.
