It will end very soon in a natural manner, (5 more chapters, end with 68 total). I skimmed through the raws, and at this very moment the final match of the tournament is taking place for more than 5 chapters now.
And most of all, today dropped an interview with the author, confirming that it will end soon, have 8 volumes total, and that it's a planned ending. (If it's not enough, then I let you know the sales were overall good, better than half of Jump+ series' sales.)
(Also yeah, I love how deceitful the current thumbnail cover is. Hopefully people check it out for action and stay for the old men playing shogi.
