I was gonna be disappointed in the typical japanese citizen isekai but I really vibe with this premise. Proxy wars waged by the future using the past. This makes me wonder how Akira fits into all this. Maybe he's a descendant of someone from the future

Oh, neat! So it isn't a post-apocalyptic setting, but an alt-history setting instead.

I hope this won't break the story in the long run, though. Time travel needs to be handled very carefully as a plot point, because it tends to open a lot of plot holes.

I'm speechless. The truth is very cool, but also concerning. According to my experience, most series that has too serious theme and such large scale of world setting tends to go bad because the author can not handle the big plot, especially when the powerscale and plot is consistent instead of some isekai/fantasy bs. Most of the time, the series end with either unsatisfactory end or controversy. The author has done awesome job so far, but I hope he can keep it up or at least find a good point to wrap the series.

What a cool twist. That's a much more uncommon turn of events, usually fantasy stories like this are set post-apocalypse, nice to see the formula shaken up a bit. The introduction of time travel really isn't even a huge leap given the powers we've already been shown thus far, looking forward to seeing how this contextualizes the fights going forward.

TIME TO ADD THE SCIENCE FICTION TAG BITCH

Also, time travel being canon makes me wonder more about Akira's power, since he can "see the future" I wonder if that's an exclusive thing limited to him? Or if perhaps people from the future just have that ability innately

That and him comparing seeing the future to "fast forwarding" were gonna get paid off eventually
Cassette player analogy.... or rather Cassette recorder reference. I bet future humans can interfere with the past too using those trees -!

It kinda makes sense, imagine a modern stalemate or mutual assured destruction scenario where the opposing nations reach the conclusion “there’s not way to win now” so the logic next step is “killing hitler as a baby”, but applied to the whole country!? In truly brit fashion, lets nuke France 1000 years ago so that they are never ever a threat…
