I mean I figured that she had too much hatred for him to kill him but I'm still disappointed that he wasn't killed.

Ooof. That last line gave me goose bumps. Love it, hope she tortures him for the rest of his life. Like I sincerely hope she doesn’t grant his wish.

meh the emperor isn't good but the MC is an imbecile doing all this to avenge someone who killed her. How dumb! If the knight knew her daughter's soul was replaced with the dragon she killed, she would've killed the MC again. You can't avenge someone who never gave 2 shits about you and even more killed you. The author could've done better to make the MC's motivation more realistic

@Jajarra

Yeah, multiple times. Did you ? Did the knight not fool her and kill her ? It's up to you whether you as a reader forgive the knight because "she had to do it" or "she regretted it" or whatever. I think the MC is being idiotic for living her life trying to avenge someone that killed her. There is no sufficient amount of regret to make someone go "oh no my murderer regrets it so let me pretend to be their family and act like nothing ever happened". I said the knight didn't give a shit about her and I stand by that. If you kill someone you don't get to say that you cared about them and shed a few tears and all is forgiven.

If you find the MC's behavior logical and you would do the same in her position then you do you. I simply find it ridiculous in this context

@Akera93 Nah, I wouldn't call what the knight did a trick. She saw an opening and took it. It's not like she was hiding her intentions or anything, the first words we see out of her mouth are basically "It ends today" after all. I mostly take issue with saying that the knight didn't care at all and would immediately kill Mir again. You don't go building shrines to people you don't give a shit about and would ice at the drop of a hat. That may not be enough for you, but saying it's nothing is disingenuous.

As for Mir's choices, I'm not gonna say it's purely logical but considering her singular motivation was loneliness I think it tracks well enough.

Oh the glorious irony. The decision he made on a whim, by treating human lives as nothing of value, has cursed him to live on, unable to die just when he thought he was at the light at the end of the tunnel.

I STG if he ends up as the male lead I am going to explode lmao
