Honestly Kayn's character is very realistic, he lived his entire life as a chef, cooking and serving others, he never trained to kill. Lillia on the other hand remained with her mother and grew up to take on her wish to kill Arzan. Kayn doesnt have the strenght of heart or the mindset to try to kill someone like Arzan.
