For those who didn't understand the parody:

This is a parody of Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack last events.
~ BEYOND THE TIME ~ is the name of the movie's theme song too, which is why EVERYONE who knows Gundam saw the title (and the lettering), and instantly recognized it as a Gundam parody, as you should be able to see in the first comments:

- Lalah Sune is technically one of the heroines in the first Gundam anime (often referred as Gundam 0079), she was a young (14yo) indian girl with paranormal abilities (strong newtype abilities) rescued by Char before the series started, and was a subject to newtype research in Zeon (who started a war against Earth in favor of the space colonies, they even dropped one colony in Australia, killing millions [In both Australia, and in some of the colonies, like one federation sympathizing colony that they poisoned with gas, killing everyone inside [but one young pilot Shiro Amada who had just tried his new pilot suit as he had just joined the army, closed the helmet, and saw everyone dying around him, family, friends, every single person], the ones who carried out the plan also had no idea what they were doing [Cima Galahau was traumatized when she learned what she had done, and then her unit was blamed after the war for war crimes, such betrayal led her to become a double agent in 0083, acting as Zeon, but reporting everything to the Federation]).
Lalah was in love with Char (Also a newtype, but weaker abilities.).

Amuro is a civilian from a neutral colony, which ended up being destroyed by Zeon when they found the Federation's new weapon being created there (To understand the equivalence, imagine the US learning that Cuba, a neighbor country, is holding nuclear weapons given to them by the USSR), and fight ensued. Amuro's newtype abilities grew the more he fought (he becomes one of the strongest in the timeline during his peak along with Lalah), and eventually he met Lalah by coincidence near a lake, and they had something of a "sync" with their abilities, and Amuro fell in love, however, Lalah was already taken ("You came too late"), but empathized with Amuro. During a fight to the death between Char and Amuro, Char was almost having his revenge against Amuro (who usually won in a way or another during their face-offs), when Char's sister (and Amuro's ally) appeared in the middle of the fight, and Lalah warned Char to stop, then he noticed who was piloting the fighter. However, Amuro noticed that opening, and just before killing him, Lalah pushed Char's aside, and was vaporized by Amuro. Both men were scarred for life, Char for losing his lover, Amuro for killing the woman he was in love with. Both blamed the other for her death (to Amuro, Char got Lalah into the war, to Char, that was something inevitable with someone of her abilities, but it was Amuro who killed her). Lalah remains an influential figure for both characters to the end.

- "The <insert thing here> is not just for show!" Is a quote of Amuro, referring to his Nu Gundam. Although ironically, when he says that trying to push a huge asteroid away from Earth, is something that no, the Nu Gundam cannot do that, so it was more something he said for bravado than for results.

In the final scene, the antagonist Char was able to carry a plan to drop down the large asteroid named "Axis" towards Earth in his plan to forcibly evolve humanity (only the strong would survive the nuclear winter). The Federation's independent force Londo Bell was able to cut the asteroid in half, however, one half of it is still falling towards Earth. And it's the protagonist Amuro who has no other choice but try to push it back with his Nu Gundam (a useless task, read above). The scene has both sides of the war stopping their battles (GMs are from the Federation, Geara Dogas are from Neo Zeon and technically the ones who were working in dropping the asteroid) and helping to try to push the asteroid just like Amuro.

They were able to do it in the end, but only due to a certain paranormal phenomena, but Amuro and Char go "Missing In Action" and treated as dead for the rest of the timeline.

Here is the song by the way

Here is the scene, although as shown in one of the many games.
