Problem? That creature just swing the guy out of the dirt like a toy shovel out of the sand.

It probably did a lot of "teasing" with its previous victims based on the bags we see on the cave floor.

Until it finally did on adult woman. Head seem to being pulled out forcefully.

Well problem is it’s already showed to be strong enough to pull a half buried human out of what was probably a good amount of dirt easy, then it’s likely has better vision/hearing and able to cling to ceiling so it will be the one ambushing them.
You also got it’s feral attitude, it be like fighting a monkey, it’s gonna bite off parts of you and clawing at your eyes/soft spots to kill/maim you.
now our future victims here don’t look like killers or are particularly strong besides the one guy , so the majority of them are gonna hesitate/panic when the chips are down.
the only thing they got going for them is that it appears hesitant to attack the group upfront at the moment.
