I mean the child genius was a really interesting character, and because the protagonist is able to draw in more characters in the series, while being socially intelligent I like him too.
While I agree she's an interesting character, I'd still read the story w/o her. Still hopes she stays alive though. A dead character takes all of their potential with them.
