There's no way that he is planning on making a watch that will last forever so she has something to remember them by once they are inevitably gone. (similar to the photo of the museum worker)

If so, I think I'll cry :qq:

Is he pondering if he can "fix" Saya to ensure that she would be able to live indefinitely? Or is he suspicious/jealous of her?

I also appreciate how the typesetting changes the font of some words in Hans' speech to show the extent of the damage in his systems, it's very thoughtful. Was it like this in the raws?

There are WW1 pocket watches that, to this day, still work with almost all their original parts.
I'd sooner buy a cesium clock for the home than a new all-mechanical watch today (half joke), but these antiques amaze me. Decades of neglect, they often still work. And many of the "broken" ones need little to be made functional again (as you basically stated). I am resentful how everything now is just made to be thrown away....

so, I paid unusually close attention to the costuming & character design this time. And i noticed two things:

1) you know that techwear/stormtroopery pattern of stitches / seams she wears? it KEEPS CHANGING from panel to panel - Evidently this is an advanced countermeasure to foil any attempted cosplayers

2) the watchmaker is just keeping like, two or three jars of stuff in his skull. WHICH MAKES TOTAL SENSE like, that shit is empty anyway & my tables have stuff on them, why not?? This is real intrapreneurship. hes growth hacking. Hes disrupting. I love him. i wish more of my body cavities were empty
