Y’know, I can’t even begin to understand where in the horror should come from. The setup for the stories last 3/4 of the story, only to completely discard the setup in favor of some nonsense payoff that has little to do with the setup. The fear boxes are cool though.

I like the idea, but the tales just never seem to have a satisfying ending to them, they always feel unfinished

Yonekura looks so similar to Kanbayashi in Miss Bernard Said., I’ve decided they take place in the same universe and that’s just what she was like in highschool

anyways this is basically a horror manga for children. that’s not a bad thing, we all read Goosebumps and such when we were in elementary school. the art is interesting and some of the concepts are compelling, but don’t be too disappointed when it’s not scary-scary.

If you want “mild horror” but with a stronger plot twist/short story conceit, try Once You Know the True Meanings…
If you’re fine with going “huh…? that was the ending? that wasn’t scary…” but you wish there was more sex and nudity, try 13 Nights of Vengeful Spirits
